Education & Training

Carer Assist has a range of educational programs available for family and carers, details of which can be found on the menu on the left.

Please see our educational outline below:

• Well Ways is a family education program – that is a group-based education and support program for families of people with mental illness.
• Well Ways Duo is a support and information program for families and friends of people with mental illness and co-existing substance use. (Dual Diagnosis)
• Assisting Families is our own modular program designed to meet the needs of families and carers who are unable to attend an eight week program or are new to the role of a carer.
• Eight Stages of Healing is a 10 week program which introduces families and carers to alternatives other than the common patterns of coping allowing families to continue to care for their loved one without losing sight of their own needs.
• SMILES is a program for young carers/COPMI.
