Carer research

Thankfully, schizophrenia is much more widely researched today in 2003 than in the previous century. However, the role that carers play in the recovery of people who have schizophrenia is still under-researched. Fortunately for us, while 'on assignment' recently in Dublin, our Director if Support Services, Rebecca Reay-Young, undertook some important research for Schizophrenia Ireland into the needs of people who care for someone with schizophrenia. Carers can be partners, mothers, fathers, friends, brothers or sisters - anyone who takes an active role in the recovery of someone who has schizophrenia.
